The Hudson Hospital Foundation held the 38th annual Al Hein Memorial Golf Tournament on Monday, June 10th, 2019 at White Eagle Golf Club with an aim to raise $60,000.
The event draws golfers to raise funds for grants to meet community health needs in the Hudson area. Since 2008, the golf tournament has raised more than $450,000 for the community health needs.
Throughout the years the funds raised have been distributed to Good Samaritan Fund, Backpack program, Make It OK program, Operation HELP, Weitkamp Universal Playground and the Aging and Disability Resource Center. They have also contributed to ProAct, Inc, Sexual Assault Response Team of St. Croix Valley, St. Croix Therapy, Hudson Police Department and numerous library and reading programs for youth. The philanthropic support continues with the Hudson School District, YMCA of Hudson, St. Croix EMS & Rescue, Free Clinic of Pierce & St. Croix Counties, Power-Up Hudson and Healthier Together.
Funds were sent to Cancer Center of Western Wisconsin, St. Croix Valley National Alliance on Mental Illness and Hudson Hospital & Clinic Delirium Program. The coveted Al Hein trophy for the top team gives them bragging rights for the year and the ability to display it at their work/home space. Raffle tickets were sold by all Hudson Hospital Foundation Board members and available on-site to provide additional funds for the event.
As a member of the Hudson Hospital Foundation and a Volunteer for the Hudson Hospital Becky Durham assisted at the check-in table to get all participants registered and ready to play. Becky’s role was minor, but one small way to give back to the community and be a part of the fundraising efforts to support a healthy community to live, work and play where she is a Realtor.
